CSI is a national association dedicated to creating standards and formats to improve construction documents and project delivery. The Cook Inlet Chapter provides an opportunity at the local level for members to promote the advancement of the objectives of the Institute.

We would like to invite you to join us for a presentation on “An Introduction to Construction Safety for Architects, Engineers, and Owners”.  Our presenter will be Paul Moyer, a Safety Consultant for the State of Alaska’s Occupational Safety and Health program (AKOSH).  Paul has been with AKOSH since 2009, and is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Senior Chief Marine Science Technician (MSTCS) and has undergraduate degrees in Occupation Health and Safety; and Fire Science.   This course will cover some of the basic hazards found on construction sites, and the employer requirements to protect employees.  The relationship and responsibility of employers on multi-employer job-sites will also be explored.  Recommendations to employers and employees for coordinating safety will be provided.
This program will help us understand basic:

Employer responsibilities
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
Ladder / Scaffold safety
Fall protection.

Looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
